People often ask, “Will I save money if I buy a life or health insurance policy directly from an insurance company, rather than going through an insurance agent?”
No. Your premium will be exactly the same.
It does not cost you anything to meet with an insurance agent/broker, and have them take the time to educate you about insurance products, answer your questions, and assist you with the application process to ensure that it’s submitted properly and efficiently. If the agent is contracted with the insurance company that offers the plan you have chosen, the company will pay the agent a commission. This cost is not passed along to the consumer.
