Q: What’s the difference between an insurance AGENT and an insurance BROKER?

Heart to Heart Insurance Agency, LLC

People often ask, “What’s the difference between an insurance AGENT and an insurance BROKER?”

The simple answer is that they are both agents.

An insurance agent who works for an insurance company is called a CAPTIVE AGENT. These agents can only sell policies offered by their employer.

A BROKER is an independent insurance agent who has the freedom to offer you a wide range of products offered by multiple insurers. Essentially, a broker is an agent who works for you.
